Candidates must have passed High School (Class 10) or an equivalent examination on or before 1 September 2026. Merely appearing in Class 10 without having passed by the closing date is not sufficient.
The normal age limit is 18 to 40 years as on 1 July 2026. The candidate must have completed 18 years and must not have crossed 40 years on the cutoff date.
Candidate Group | Upper-Age Relaxation |
|---|---|

Ex-servicemen | Military service is deducted from actual age; the remaining age may exceed the prescribed maximum by up to 3 years |
Persons with Disabilities | 15 years |
Eligible Uttar Pradesh Government employees | 5 years |
A candidate claiming any relaxation must enter the relevant details in the application and produce supporting records when required. Final acceptance of the relaxation remains subject to the applicable service rules, government orders or court directions.
Completion of UPSSSC One-Time Registration (OTR) is compulsory before applying for PET 2026. The OTR system became operational on 14 July 2026. Candidates must correct their OTR information before generating the PET registration number because core OTR and PET details cannot be freely changed afterwards.
PET 2026 is a preliminary eligibility and shortlisting examination for future UPSSSC Group-C direct recruitment main examinations. It is not a recruitment for a fixed number of vacancies and does not itself result in appointment.
A PET score may be used for applying to later UPSSSC advertisements that require a valid PET score.
Candidates must separately satisfy the age, qualification, experience and other conditions of each future post-specific advertisement.
The PET score remains valid for 3 years from the date on which the result is declared or uploaded by the Commission.
When more than one PET score is valid, shortlisting may be based on the candidate's highest valid normalized score.
Applying for PET, appearing in the examination or receiving a scorecard does not create an automatic right to be shortlisted or appointed.

After the PET result, UPSSSC may publish separate advertisements for different Group-C posts. Candidates will have to submit a fresh application for the relevant post and meet that advertisement's complete eligibility conditions.
Shortlisting will be carried out according to the valid normalized PET score and the rules stated in the relevant main-examination advertisement.
Where a candidate holds more than one valid PET score, the highest valid normalized score may be used.
Reservation benefits will be applied in the later post-specific recruitment according to the applicable Uttar Pradesh laws, government orders and service rules.
The minimum and maximum age for a later post will be calculated according to that post's service rules and recruitment advertisement, not merely from PET eligibility.
Complete the free UPSSSC One-Time Registration and verify the registered mobile number and email address.
Correct any inaccurate OTR information before starting the PET 2026 application.
Log in using the OTR number or the mobile number registered with OTR and complete OTP verification.
Review the prefilled details and enter the additional information requested in the PET form.
Read the declaration, enter the verification code and submit the registration section.
Pay the applicable fee and wait until the transaction is successfully confirmed or reconciled.
Download and print the detailed application form. The application is treated as complete only after successful payment and generation of the printable form.
Use the correction facility before 8 September 2026 if a permitted field needs amendment.
Submit only one application. If multiple applications are finally submitted, only the last submitted application will be accepted and the others will be treated as cancelled.
Ensure that OTR details are correct before PET registration; core information becomes restricted after the PET registration number is generated.
Do not treat a payment debit alone as confirmation. Verify that the transaction is reconciled and the detailed application form is available for download.
Select the correct reservation category and claim relaxation only when valid supporting documents are available.
Check the date of birth printed on the High School or equivalent certificate because that record will be treated as the valid age proof.
The correction facility covers only permitted fields and closes on 8 September 2026; no correction request will be accepted afterwards.
The examination date, district and centre will be communicated separately through the admit card or an official UPSSSC notice.
The online application opens on 3 August 2026.
Registration, fee payment and final submission close on 1 September 2026.
Candidates must have passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination by the application closing date.
