Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has released Advertisement No. 04/2026 for 1,936 Assistant Professor vacancies in aided co-educational and women's colleges across Uttar Pradesh. Selection will be based on a 360-mark written examination and 40-mark interview. The written examination consists of 120 MCQs, including 30 General Knowledge questions and 90 subject-related questions, with +3 marks for each correct answer and -1 mark for each incorrect or multiple-marked answer.

Generally, a Master's Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in the concerned, relevant, allied or recognized equivalent subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University, together with NET conducted by UGC/CSIR or an accredited test such as SLET/SET. Candidates possessing an eligible Ph.D. may be exempt from NET/SLET/SET subject to the conditions prescribed in UGC Regulations. An alternative eligibility route is available to candidates holding a Ph.D. in the concerned subject from a foreign University or Institution ranked within the top 500 at any time by QS, THE or ARWU. Separate alternative professional qualifications apply to Art/Drawing & Painting and Music subjects.
