IIT Madras is conducting GATE 2027 for 30 test papers. The revised online application portal opened on 02 September 2026. Regular registration without late fee closes on 27 September 2026 and extended registration with late fee closes on 05 October 2026. GATE 2027 examinations are scheduled on 06, 07, 13, 14, 20 and 21 February 2027, with result announcement scheduled for 19 March 2027.

Candidates currently studying in the 3rd year or higher of any undergraduate degree programme, or candidates who have completed a Government-approved degree programme in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts or Humanities are eligible. Eligible professional society qualifications and specified integrated, medical, pharmacy, agriculture and postgraduate programmes are also accepted as prescribed.
