UPSSSC has invited applications for 708 Forest Guard and Wildlife Guard posts under Advertisement No. 12-Exam/2026. Candidates must have passed Class 10 and possess a valid UPSSSC PET-2025 score card. Main Examination shortlisting is based on PET-2025 normalized score, followed by written examination, physical standards, physical efficiency and medical examination.

Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released Advertisement No. 12-Exam/2026 for Forest Guard and Wildlife Guard Main Examination (PET-2025)/13 under the Office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force, Uttar Pradesh.
A total of 708 permanent vacancies are notified. Only candidates who appeared in UPSSSC PET-2025 and have been issued a valid PET-2025 score card are eligible to be considered for the Main Examination.

Online Application Processing Fee: Rs. 25 for all categories. This includes UR, OBC, SC and ST candidates. Candidates shortlisted for the Main Examination will have to pay the separate Main Examination fee prescribed by UPSSSC before downloading the Main Examination admit card.

Wildlife Guard: 10 posts - UR 4, SC 2, ST 1, OBC 2, EWS 1.
Forest Guard Special Selection: 329 posts - SC 134 and OBC 195.
Wildlife Guard Special Selection: 51 posts - SC 17 and OBC 34.
Combined Category Total: UR 132, SC 218, ST 11, OBC 315 and EWS 32 = 708 posts.
Essential Educational Qualification: High School / Class 10 or equivalent examination passed from the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh or an examination recognized as equivalent by the Government.
PET Requirement: Candidate must have appeared in UPSSSC PET-2025 and must have been issued a PET-2025 score card.
Candidates for the Main Examination will be shortlisted on the basis of PET-2025 normalized score and merit. Candidates having zero, negative or less than zero actual or normalized PET-2025 score will not be shortlisted for the Main Examination.
Minimum two years of service in the Territorial Army.
NCC B Certificate.
Certificate in Computer Application from an institution recognized by the Central or State Government.
Representation of the State in any sport.
The basic age limit is 18 to 40 years as on 01 July 2026. Relaxation in the upper-age limit is admissible to SC, ST, OBC and other eligible categories according to Uttar Pradesh Government rules.
The Main Written Examination will consist of 100 objective multiple-choice questions for 100 marks with a total duration of 120 minutes. Each question carries one mark.
Negative Marking: 25% or one-fourth mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
Subject-related Knowledge: 50 questions, 50 marks.
Elementary Mathematics and Biology: 15 questions, 15 marks.
Computer & Information Technology Concepts, Development and Innovation: 15 questions, 15 marks.
General Information related to Uttar Pradesh: 20 questions, 20 marks.
Subject-related knowledge includes forests, national parks and bird sanctuaries, reserved and protected forests, elephant and tiger reserves, ecosystem and environmental balance, climate change and carbon management, soil and moisture conservation, afforestation and agro-forestry, forest disasters, forest produce, human-wildlife conflict, forest and wildlife conservation, forest ecology and related agricultural systems.
Height - UR / OBC / SC: Minimum 168 cm.
Height - ST: Minimum 160 cm.
Chest - UR / OBC / SC: Minimum 84 cm.
Chest - ST: Minimum 82 cm.
Minimum chest expansion: 5 cm.
Height - UR / OBC / SC: Minimum 152 cm.
Height - ST: Minimum 147 cm.
Weight: 45 kg to 58 kg.
Male Candidates: Complete 25 km within 4 hours while carrying 10 kg weight.
Female Candidates: Complete 14 km within 4 hours.
The physical efficiency test is qualifying in nature and its marks do not affect the merit list. Candidates qualifying the physical stage will also be required to undergo the prescribed medical examination.
