For Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services (PCS), candidates generally must possess a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University by the last date of application. Certain posts have additional or specific educational qualifications. For Assistant Conservator of Forest, a Bachelor's degree with at least one of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geology, Forestry or Statistics, or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or Engineering, or recognized equivalent qualification is required. For Range Forest Officer, a Bachelor's degree with two or more prescribed science/agriculture/environment subjects, or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Engineering or Veterinary Science, or recognized equivalent qualification is required.
Salary / Stipend
Salary varies by post. PCS posts cover different pay scales/grade pays under applicable Uttar Pradesh pay matrix rules. Assistant Conservator of Forest carries Pay Matrix Level-10, approximately Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500. Range Forest Officer carries Pay Matrix Level-8, Rs. 47,600 to Rs. 1,51,100.
