Reserve Bank of India invited applications for 650 Assistant vacancies under Panel Year 2025. Applications opened on 16 February 2026 and the original 08 March deadline was extended to 10 March 2026. Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate; pass class is sufficient for SC, ST and PwBD candidates subject to the notified reservation conditions. Candidates must also have knowledge of word processing on a PC and proficiency in the official or local language of the state or states falling under the Recruiting Office applied for.
Salary / Stipend
Starting basic pay is Rs. 29,000 per month in the pay scale Rs. 29,000-1,700(3)-34,100-2,040(4)-42,260-2,720(6)-58,580-2,950(2)-64,480-3,370(3)-74,590-4,050(1)-78,640. Initial gross monthly emoluments excluding HRA are approximately Rs. 58,514. HRA at 15% of pay is additionally payable where Bank accommodation is not provided.

Reserve Bank of India invited online applications for 650 Assistant vacancies under the recruitment titled Assistant - Panel Year 2025.
Although the recruitment is officially identified as Panel Year 2025, the notification, application process and examinations were conducted during 2026, and the recruitment is commonly referred to as RBI Assistant Recruitment 2026.
Selection is conducted through Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and mandatory Language Proficiency Test, followed by document verification, medical fitness and other appointment formalities.

The original application deadline was extended because candidates had faced technical difficulties in completing the online application process. RBI subsequently also provided a two-day paid application correction window.
The Preliminary Examination result has been officially declared and the Main Examination has already been conducted. Candidates shortlisted from the Main Examination are required to undergo the mandatory Language Proficiency Test. The Main result and subsequent LPT schedule should be checked only through RBI's official recruitment portal.

PwBD and Ex-Servicemen reservations are horizontal and are already accounted for within the overall vacancy structure. Figures shown in brackets in the official vacancy table indicate backlog vacancies.
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. A pass class is sufficient for SC, ST and PwBD candidates subject to the reservation conditions applicable to the concerned office.
Candidates must have knowledge of word processing on a PC. They must also be proficient in the official or local language of the state or states falling under the Recruiting Office for which they applied.
For eligible Ex-Servicemen, the prescribed alternative qualification provisions apply, including the notified defence-service conditions.
The basic age limit is 20 to 28 years as on 01 February 2026. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02 February 1998 and not later than 01 February 2006, both dates inclusive.
SC/ST: 5 years upper-age relaxation, up to 33 years.
OBC: 3 years relaxation, up to 31 years.
PwBD: 10 years for General/EWS, 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST.
Ex-Servicemen: Defence service plus 3 years, subject to maximum age of 50 years.
Widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from husbands and not remarried: up to 35 years, or 40 years for SC/ST candidates.
Candidates with qualifying RBI work experience: relaxation to the extent of such experience, subject to a maximum of 3 years.
Cumulative age relaxation under multiple categories is not available unless specifically permitted under the notification.
General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 450 plus 18% GST
SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen: Rs. 50 plus 18% GST as intimation charges.
Eligible RBI Staff Candidates: Nil.
Selected Assistants receive starting basic pay of Rs. 29,000 per month in the notified pay scale extending up to Rs. 78,640.
Initial gross monthly emoluments without HRA are approximately Rs. 58,514. Candidates not staying in Bank accommodation are additionally eligible for House Rent Allowance at 15% of pay.
Other benefits include eligible Bank accommodation, medical facilities, annual health check-up, reimbursement of eligible medical expenses, Leave Fare Concession, festival advance and concessional housing and personal advances according to RBI rules.

Approximately 10 times the number of vacancies, subject to availability and RBI's decision, may be shortlisted from the Preliminary Examination for the Main Examination.

Candidates must qualify each part separately. Both Preliminary and Main objective examinations carry one-fourth negative marking for every incorrect answer.
Candidates standing sufficiently high in the Main Examination merit list, approximately twice the vacancies subject to availability, are shortlisted for the Language Proficiency Test.
LPT is conducted in the official or local language of the concerned state and is mandatory with no exemption. A candidate who is not proficient in the required local language will be disqualified.
Final selection is based on performance in the online examination in order of merit, qualifying the LPT, medical fitness, verification of certificates and completion of other RBI requirements.

DigiLocker integration was available on a voluntary basis to provide access to eligible issued credentials and documents such as Aadhaar and educational qualification documents.
Candidates were allowed to apply for a vacancy in one Recruiting Office only. At the online application stage, candidates were not required to send printed applications or certificates to RBI.
