BSF is the nodal recruiting force for the Common Direct Recruitment Exam-2024 for ASI Stenographer/Combatant Stenographer and Head Constable Ministerial/Combatant Ministerial in CAPFs along with equivalent Warrant Officer (Personal Assistant) and Havildar (Clerk) posts in Assam Rifles. The original 1,526 vacancies were first revised to 1,752 on 06 March 2025 and further revised to 1,760 through the subsequent corrigendum dated 13 March 2025. The latest breakup is 259 ASI/WO vacancies and 1,501 HC/Havildar vacancies. PST/PET has been completed and the recruitment is currently at the CBT stage in September 2026.

Qualification
Intermediate or Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) from a recognized Board or University or equivalent as on 01 August 2024. For ASI (Stenographer/Combatant Stenographer) / Warrant Officer (Personal Assistant), candidates must qualify the shorthand skill test consisting of 10 minutes dictation at 80 words per minute followed by transcription on computer in 50 minutes in English or 65 minutes in Hindi. For Head Constable (Ministerial/Combatant Ministerial) / Havildar (Clerk), candidates must qualify English typing at 35 words per minute or Hindi typing at 30 words per minute on computer.
Salary / Stipend
ASI (Stenographer/Combatant Stenographer) and Warrant Officer (Personal Assistant): Pay Level-5, Rs. 29,200-92,300. Head Constable (Ministerial/Combatant Ministerial) and Havildar (Clerk): Pay Level-4, Rs. 25,500-81,100, plus admissible Central Government allowances.
