Research publications: Where prescribed, at least two research publications after appointment as Associate Professor are required, with the candidate among the first three authors.
Biomedical research training: Completion of the Basic Course in Biomedical Research is required wherever specified.
Assistant Professor candidates must hold the relevant recognised postgraduate or super-speciality qualification prescribed for the selected specialty.
For many broad-speciality posts, candidates are required to have one year of Senior Resident experience after obtaining the prescribed degree. The advertisement also provides specialty-specific alternative routes for Armed Forces specialists, eligible consultants/medical officers, specified diploma holders and other candidates covered by the applicable faculty regulations.

Eligible Uttar Pradesh SC, ST and OBC candidates and specified Uttar Pradesh Government employees receive five years' upper-age relaxation under the notified rules.
