SBI Junior Associate Special Recruitment Drive Backlog Examination 2026

Final-year candidates: May apply provisionally, but must produce proof of Graduation on or before 31 December 2026 if provisionally selected.

Integrated dual degree: The IDD passing date must be on or before 31 December 2026.

Matriculate Ex-Servicemen: Eligible with the prescribed Army / Navy / Air Force education certificate after at least 15 years of Armed Forces service, with certificate dated on or before 31 December 2026.

SBI clerical staff: Candidates currently working in SBI Clerical Cadre, and candidates who earlier resigned from SBI Clerical Cadre, are not eligible.

OBC Non-Creamy Layer: Only OBC Non-Creamy Layer candidates can apply against OBC vacancies; the required certificate must contain the Non-Creamy Layer clause.

PwBD suitability: The post is identified suitable for notified benchmark disability categories under the RPwD Act, subject to functional requirements.

No horizontal PwBD reservation: The notification expressly states that no horizontal PwBD reservation applies in this special drive; only eligible concessions are available.

Scribe facility: Eligible candidates with writing limitation may use a scribe under Government guidelines and receive compensatory time of 20 minutes per examination hour.

Ex-Servicemen: Eligible Ex-Servicemen and Disabled Ex-Servicemen may apply under their respective parent SC, ST or OBC category and claim the notified age relaxation.

Serving Armed Forces personnel: Candidates due for release within the prescribed period must produce the required service and release certificates in the notified proforma.

No cumulative age relaxation: Age relaxations cannot be combined cumulatively with one another.

Character and antecedents: Candidates with adverse character, antecedent or moral-turpitude reports are not eligible for appointment.

PwBD / Ex-Servicemen: PwBD and Ex-Servicemen / Disabled Ex-Servicemen may apply under their respective parent SC, ST or OBC category.

PwBD reservation: The notification states that no horizontal PwBD reservation is applicable in this special drive, though eligible PwBD concessions remain available.

Vacancy status: The notified vacancies are provisional and may vary depending on the Bank's actual requirement.

One State / UT: Candidature is considered only against vacancies in the State / UT selected in the application.

Negative marking: One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer.

No sectional cut-off: No minimum qualifying marks are prescribed for an individual test or for the aggregate at the Preliminary stage.

Shortlisting: Approximately ten times the number of vacancies, subject to availability, will be shortlisted category-wise for the Main Examination.

Merit use: Preliminary Examination marks are not added to final selection merit.

Negative marking: One-fourth of the assigned marks is deducted for each wrong answer.

Aggregate qualifying standard: Candidates must secure the minimum aggregate percentage decided by SBI; no individual-subject minimum is prescribed.

Final written merit: Only the aggregate marks of the Main Examination are used for the State-wise and category-wise merit list.

SBI apprentice bonus: Eligible trained SBI apprentices receive 5 bonus marks, equal to 2.5 percent of the 200 Main Examination marks, subject to the notification conditions.

LLPT exemption: Candidates who studied the opted local language in Class 10 or Class 12 are exempt from the separate Local Language Proficiency Test.

LLPT failure: A provisionally selected candidate who fails the local language test will not be offered appointment.

No inter-State transfer: There is no general provision for Inter Circle / Inter State transfer for Junior Associates recruited under this project.

Limited intra-State exception: Transfer may be permitted between Delhi Circle and Lucknow Circle within Uttar Pradesh, and between Mumbai Metro Circle and Maharashtra Circle within Maharashtra, subject to Bank guidelines.

Benefits: Employees are eligible for DA, other allowances, provident fund, New Pension Scheme, medical, leave-fare reimbursement and other facilities under SBI rules.

Probation learning: Newly appointed Junior Associates must complete prescribed e-lessons during probation for confirmation.

Role expectations: The job can include customer calls, banking and advisory services, cross-selling, outdoor travel, flexible working hours and shifts.

Fresh notification: This is the 7 August 2026 Special Recruitment Drive, not the older CRPD/CR/2025-26/06 recruitment.

Correct backlog count: Use 1,538 total vacancies: SC 207, ST 1,219 and OBC 112.

Application window: 7 August to 27 August 2026.

No General / EWS vacancies: The notified backlog vacancies are only for SC, ST and OBC categories.

OBC fee: Rs. 750; SC/ST/PwBD/XS/DXS fee is Nil.

Academic cut-off: Graduation must be completed by 31 December 2026.

Local language: Language proficiency is mandatory for the State / UT applied for unless exempt through Class 10 or 12 study proof.

Transfer restriction: There is no normal inter-State / inter-Circle transfer provision for recruits under this project.
