Full-time regular only: Part-time, correspondence and distance-learning qualifications are not eligible.
Lateral-entry diploma: Recognised lateral-entry Diploma candidates are eligible if the prescribed aggregate-percentage condition is met.
CGPA / grade conversion: Candidates must provide the equivalent aggregate percentage as per institute rules and produce supporting certification at verification.

Qualification freshness: NATS / NAPS candidates who completed five years after acquiring the relevant prescribed qualification by 31 August 2026 are not eligible.
Higher qualification restriction: Candidates possessing or pursuing higher professional qualifications such as B.E., MBA, MCA, CA, ICWA, LL.B. or equivalent, and completing them on or before joining, are not eligible.
Job-experience restriction: Diploma or vocational-certificate holders with one year or more of post-qualification job experience are not eligible.
Previous apprenticeship: A candidate may undergo a maximum of two apprenticeship trainings; the second training cannot be in the same trade and applicable gap rules must be met.
First-time preference: Preference is given to candidates applying for apprenticeship training for the first time.
There is no written test and no interview. Selection is merit-based.
Only candidates registered on the applicable NAPS / NATS portal and applying against the notified opportunity are considered.
A merit list is prepared for each relevant opportunity using the percentage obtained in the prescribed qualifying examination.
If two candidates have the same qualifying percentage, the older candidate is ranked higher.
If date of birth is also the same, the candidate with the higher Matriculation percentage is ranked higher.
Preference is given to candidates seeking apprenticeship training for the first time.
Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification.
Candidates must pass the IndianOil pre-engagement medical fitness test.
Candidates clearing document verification and medical fitness receive an apprenticeship engagement offer.
Medical reimbursement: Up to ₹3,000 may be reimbursed towards eligible pre-engagement medical tests / investigations on production of receipts.
No competitive exam: There is no CBT, written examination, skill test or interview in the notified selection methodology.
The statutory stipend is payable according to the Apprentices Act, 1961, Apprentices Rules, 1992 and applicable Government guidelines. The notification does not state one common fixed statutory stipend amount for all disciplines.
Additional IOCL payment: IndianOil Marketing Division - Northern Region will pay ₹2,500 per month towards miscellaneous expenses in addition to the statutory stipend.
Graduate / Technician DBT: A portion of Graduate and Technician Apprentice stipend is paid directly through BOAT under the DBT scheme.
Trade Apprentice payment: NAPS Trade Apprentices receive stipend in full from IndianOil Marketing Division - Northern Region, subject to Government / scheme guidelines.
Aadhaar-seeded account: Candidates must maintain an Aadhaar-seeded, DBT-enabled bank account and correctly update bank details, APAAR ID and e-KYC where required on NATS.
Training period: All disciplines have a 12-month apprenticeship period.
No employment right: Completion of apprenticeship does not obligate IndianOil to offer regular employment and does not create a right to employment.
Age proof: Class 10 / Matriculation mark sheet or certificate is the accepted date-of-birth proof.
Academic documents: Semester / year-wise mark sheets and final ITI, Class 12, Graduation or Diploma certificate as applicable.
Category certificate: Current SC / ST / OBC-NCL certificate in the prescribed Government format where applicable.
OBC-NCL validity: The notification requires a Central-list OBC-NCL certificate issued on or after 1 September 2025, or a more recent valid certificate produced at verification.
Regular-course certificate: Institute certification showing that the qualification was pursued in regular mode and indicating the year of passing.
Banking documents: First page of Aadhaar-seeded bank passbook and cancelled cheque leaf.
Identity documents: Aadhaar Card and PAN Card.
Medical certificate: Pre-engagement medical fitness certificate.
Candidates must keep their email ID and mobile number active for at least one year because document-verification and engagement communication is sent through email / SMS.
Current deadline: Apply on NAPS / NATS and submit the Microsoft Form by 6 September 2026 at 5:00 PM.
