Matriculation for Multi-Tasking Staff, 12th Class for Stenographer Grade-II and Graduation for Tax Assistant, along with prescribed Sports Quota eligibility.
Salary / Stipend
Stenographer Grade-II and Tax Assistant: Pay Level-4, Rs. 25,500-81,100. Multi-Tasking Staff: Pay Level-1, Rs. 18,000-56,900 under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.

The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Pune Region has invited applications from eligible meritorious sportspersons for direct recruitment to Stenographer Grade-II, Tax Assistant and Multi-Tasking Staff posts under Sports Quota.
A total of 85 vacancies are available. Candidates must satisfy both the post-wise educational qualification and the prescribed Sports Quota eligibility.

Candidate must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized Board or University and must fulfil the prescribed Sports Quota eligibility.
Candidate must possess a Graduation Degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification and fulfil Sports Quota eligibility.
Candidate must have passed Matriculation or equivalent and must fulfil the prescribed Sports Quota eligibility.
Eligible meritorious sportspersons must possess valid sports certificates issued by the competent authorities in the prescribed format. Sports achievements obtained after 10 August 2026 will not be considered.
Age Limit: 18-27 years for Stenographer Grade-II and Tax Assistant; 18-25 years for MTS as on 01 January 2026. Eligible meritorious sportspersons receive upper-age relaxation as prescribed under Government rules.

This is direct recruitment under Sports Quota. Applications will be scrutinized for educational qualification, age and sports eligibility, and eligible candidates will be considered according to the prescribed Sports Quota order of preference.

Tax Assistant candidates must qualify the prescribed Data Entry Skill Test. Stenographer Grade-II candidates must qualify the prescribed Stenography Skill Test.

These are regular Central Government posts under Sports Quota. Selected candidates will normally be posted within the jurisdiction of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Pune Region.
