IBPS CRP CSA XVI Customer Service Associate Recruitment 2026

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is conducting the Common Recruitment Process CRP CSA-XVI for recruitment of Customer Service Associates (CSA), commonly referred to as clerical cadre posts, in participating Public Sector Banks for vacancies of 2027-28.

The recruitment process consists of an Online Preliminary Examination followed by an Online Main Examination. Candidates qualifying the required stages will be considered for State/UT-wise provisional allotment to participating banks on merit-cum-preference basis, subject to actual vacancies and fulfilment of eligibility conditions.

IBPS issued a corrigendum dated 21 August 2026 extending the online application and fee-payment period for CRP CSA-XVI.

The corrigendum only extends the application and fee-payment period. All other eligibility conditions, cut-off dates, examination rules and terms of the detailed notification dated 01 August 2026 remain unchanged.

The IBPS tentative examination calendar separately lists the CSA Preliminary Examination for 10 and 11 October 2026 and the Main Examination for 27 December 2026. Candidates should follow the final call letter and latest IBPS notice if any schedule changes.

The notification contains 11,403 indicative Customer Service Associate vacancies based on vacancies reported by participating banks. Union Bank of India vacancies were marked as Not Reported in the original Annexure. The advertised vacancies are indicative and provisional allotment will ultimately depend upon actual vacancies reported by participating banks.

State/UT-wise and participating-bank-wise vacancy distribution is provided in Annexure-I of the notification. Some banks may also include backlog vacancies. Candidates can apply for vacancies of only one State/UT.

Candidates must possess a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.

The candidate must possess a valid Graduation mark sheet or Degree Certificate and must be a graduate on the required eligibility date. The final result of the qualifying examination must have been declared on or before 21 August 2026. This qualification cut-off date has not changed despite extension of the application deadline.

Candidates must enter their Graduation percentage in the online application. Where CGPA/OGPA is awarded, it should be converted into percentage according to the norms prescribed by the University or Institute.

Operating and working knowledge of computer systems is mandatory. Candidates should have a Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Computer Operations/Computer Language or should have studied Computer or Information Technology as a subject in High School, College or Institute.

Candidates applying for a particular State/UT must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking and understanding the specified or opted local language of that State/UT. One local language must be selected in the online application.

Age is calculated as on 01 August 2026. The application extension does not change this age cut-off date.

Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02 August 1998 and not later than 01 August 2006, both dates inclusive.

Bank transaction charges, if applicable, are payable separately by the candidate. The fee-payment period has been extended up to 28 August 2026.

The Customer Service Associate carries the basic pay scale ₹24,050-1340/3-28,070-1650/3-33,020-2000/4-41,020-2340/7-57,400-4400/1-61,800-2680/1-64,480.

Selected candidates will also be eligible for allowances and perquisites according to the rules of the respective participating bank in force from time to time.

There is no interview stage in CRP CSA-XVI. Marks obtained in the Online Main Examination only will be considered for final merit listing.

Candidates must qualify each of the three Preliminary Examination tests by securing cut-off marks decided by IBPS. An adequate number of candidates in each category will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

Both Preliminary and Main objective examinations have negative marking. For every wrong answer, one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. There is no penalty for an unanswered question.

Candidates must obtain the required sectional and overall Main Examination cut-off. Only marks obtained in the Online Main Examination will be considered for final merit listing and provisional allotment.

Candidates must be proficient in the specified or opted local language of the State/UT for which they apply. The Local Language Proficiency Test is qualifying in nature and may be conducted after qualifying the Main Examination/provisional allotment but before joining the allotted bank.

Candidates who produce a Class 10 or higher marksheet/certificate showing that they studied the specified or opted local language will not be required to undergo the language test. Candidates who are required to appear for the test and fail to qualify will not be offered appointment.

IBPS may arrange Pre-Examination Training in online mode for a limited number of eligible SC, ST, OBC, Minority Community, Ex-Servicemen and PwBD candidates who opt for the facility in the online application. Participation in PET does not give any right to selection.

The uploaded photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration and certificates must be clear and not smudged or blurred. An incomplete application or application without the prescribed uploads may be rejected.

After closure of online registration, IBPS will provide a two-day Edit Window for eligible candidates who successfully submitted their application and paid the required fee. Exact dates will be notified on the IBPS website.

The fee for modifying or correcting the application through the Edit Window is ₹200 inclusive of GST for all categories. A candidate can correct and re-submit the modified application only once.

Fields including Name, Email ID, Mobile Number, State/UT selected for vacancy, State/UT in correspondence address, Permanent Address, Post and Nationality cannot be edited.

Customer Service Associate recruitment is conducted State/UT-wise. A candidate can apply for vacancies in only one State/UT. The State/UT selected for provisional allotment cannot subsequently be changed.

Candidates must also indicate their order of preference for participating banks in the online application. No request for change in bank preference will be entertained later.

Main Examination marks out of 200 will be converted out of 100 for provisional allotment. Allotment will be State/UT-wise and based on merit-cum-preference, reservation rules, administrative requirements and actual vacancies reported by participating banks.

The indicative vacancies notified by IBPS are not guaranteed final vacancies. A reserve list of approximately 30% of vacancies under each category may also be maintained subject to availability of candidates and vacancies.

The CRP CSA-XVI process/reserve list will normally expire one year after the date of provisional allotment or when a fresh provisional allotment is made, whichever is earlier.
